Canada. Sam Steele. The Steel family from 1066 to present day. A lot of the Steel(e)s got kicked out of Ireland, having been on the losing side of the Ulster Land War (1769-1772). They outgrew Scotland, and Chester, before that. As common a name then as Smith or Jones is today. About 20 different paternal lines emigrated to America. Hackenbracht –> Steel(e)
